Las Cerradicas

Las Cerradicas (Galve, Teruel, Aragon, Spain)
Jurassic – Cretaceous Transition (Tithonian-Berriasian)
Asset of Cultural Interest, Paleontological Zone

In Las Cerradicas around 180 tracks are documented, arranged in at least 16 trails. Several of them show the main peculiarity of this site, which is the abundance of parallel trails with the marks of the hands and feet of small ornithopod dinosaurs walking on all fours. These ichnites represent the basal ornithopod fauna present on a world-wide level at the end on the Upper Jurassic. There are also six parallel trails of wide gauge, small sauropod ichnites. The parallels between the trails of the different ichnogroups seems to indicate the possibility of gregariousness among individuals.
